Product Description

Cedar planks are a traditional way to cook salmon in the Pacific Northwest.  This is a simple way to cook salmon that adds a delightful smoked flavor to any type of salmon.  You place the fillet on the plank and let it roast over your barbecue.  The smoke from the plank is infused in the fillet, adding extra flavor to your wild salmon.  There is no need to turn the fillet and clean up is minimal.  These cedar planks come in a two pack and are intended for one time use only.  Be sure to order enough for your barbecuing season.

Cedar Planked Salmon with Maple, Orange and Wasabi Glaze

Total Time: 25 minutes  Servings :4
Ingredients:

  • 5 x 11” Cedar Plank
  • 4 (6 ounce) Salmon Fillets
  • 2 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
  • 2 Oranges – juice 1 orange, slice other orange into wedges
  • 1 Tbsp. Wasabi Powder
  • 1 Bunch Green Onions, 2 thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. Black Sesame Seed

Directions:

  1. Soak Cedar plank in water for 1 hour.
  2. Mix maple syrup, orange juice and wasabi powder in a small saucepan; cook over medium low heat to reduce until it is starting to become thick, about 8 minutes.
  3. Preheat grill to 400°F.
  4. Place salmon fillets on plank, brush with glaze then sprinkle with sliced green onion and sesame seeds.
  5. Brush remaining whole green onions with glaze.
  6. Grill planked salmon and green onions until cooked. The green onions will cook faster than the salmon.
  7. Serve planked salmon and green onions with orange wedges.
  8. Enjoy!

Cedar Planked Crusted Salmon

Total Time: 30 minutes  Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 5 x 11” Cedar Plank
  • 4 (6 ounce) Salmon Fillets, skinless
  • 2 Russet Potatoes
  • 1 Bunch Chives, chopped
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 4 Tbs. Butter, melted

Directions:

  • Soak Cedar Plank in water for 1 hour, keeping it immersed.
  • Preheat grill to 400°F.
  • Peel potatoes. Using a peeler, peel long thin pieces of potato. Place in cold water until ready to use.
  • Lay plastic wrap on work surface and slightly over lap the potato slices to create a rectangle big enough to wrap around the salmon.
  • Sprinkle salmon with chives, salt and pepper.
  • Place the salmon on the potato rectangle and use the plastic wrap to fold the potatoes around the salmon.
  • Place potato wrapped salmon seam side down on the plank and brush with melted butter.
  • Repeat with remaining fillets.
  • Place plank on the grill and cook with the lid closed for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove from the grill, sprinkle with more chives.
  • Have a spray bottle of water handy for flare-ups.
  • Enjoy
