Alaska Spot prawns are harvested by small boat fishermen who fish the icy glacier fed inside waters of Southeast Alaska. Prawns are sustainably harvested using pots to catch the limited quota of spot prawns. Alaska Spot prawns are similar in taste to lobster meat but with a more velvety texture. One taste of this decadent, meaty shrimp and you will never eat a farm-raised shrimp again. They are perfect as a main course or when combined with other seafood or beef or chicken to make an elegant dinner that your family and guests will truly enjoy.
Spot prawns are processed on board the fishing boats where they are size graded, cleaned and frozen. These spot prawns are medium size, so you can expect 12 – 14 prawns per pound.
